The cost for the Volleyball season is $125.  An active Annual Girls Place Membership ($25) is also required to participate in all GP programs.

Refunds

Refunds are not considered once girls are placed on teams. Membership fees are non-refundable at any time.

Financial Assistance

Every season we are able to provide a limited number of scholarship opportunities to our athletes.  Priority is given to families experiencing financial hardship and extenuating circumstances that would otherwise limit their ability to participate. The administrative staff and the economic status of Girls Place shall determine the amount of members assisted and the level of assistance.

Teams Announced – August 28, 2024; Girls will be on teams based on grade level. Decisions are based on in-person evaluations, balanced teams, and preferred practice days.

Games – Fridays OR Saturday

Exhibition – September 13 and 14 (girls get a better feel of the structure of the game; coaches can go on to the court to support skill development)

During registration you will be able to select your preferred practice days; however, our first priority is equality among teams so this request might not be granted. We cannot accept requests for specific practice times or coaches.

Practices are held on either Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday and will be one hour long.

When will practices start?

Practices will start September 4 OR 5 (depending on practice days).  Your will receive an email that will tell you what team your daughter is on with a schedule of practice days and times! Practice times are an hour and usually 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30.

All girls MUST participate in evaluations Tuesday, August 20 OR Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Parents may not be in the gym during evaluations. You will be given the option when you register your daughter. Evaluations are NOT tryouts, everyone who registers will be placed on a team.  We use the evaluations to determine skill level so that we can make teams as even and fair as possible. Please bring knee pads and water bottle for evaluations.

Our coaches are all volunteers from the community who are passionate about volleyball and giving back to their community. We rely on our volunteer coaches to provide a nurturing and enriching learning environment.   We want to teach our girls how to play sports – starting with a solid foundation of the fundamentals while gradually implementing new skills and challenging them throughout the season.  If you are interested in coaching this season, please complete our application!  All coaches are required to complete to a Level 2 FDLE Background Screen prior to coaching.

**COACHES MEETING – The meeting includes expectations for the season and GP rules. Date and time TBD.

Each team will play a minimum of one game on the weekends throughout the season.  The game schedule will be announced during the first week of practice.  An e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided during registration with a link to view the game schedule.  We will also post a copy of the schedule on the bulletin board in the gymnasium.

Girls Place provides financial assistance to families in need, with your support we can offer more athletic opportunities to our girls, along with helping maintain our facility, providing newer athletic equipment , and helping with the cost of jerseys.
